Aurora Borealis - A Possible Idea?

Disclaimer: Before you begin reading, please realize that this is in the chat thread and is not an idea for Owls. If you were a staff member that saw it at the bottom, as one of the newest threads, feel free to continue reading but this has nothing to do with Owls. Sorry if you got mixed up. <3

Yesterday, I joined Owls, as you probably know if you're reading this, and it really intriged me. I haven't seen a forum adoptable site/sim for years! I slept on this all night, knowing, or at least thinking that forum sims/adoptable sites were returning.

Today, while doing chores, I came upon an idea: A semi-automated canine SIM, or in human terms, a dog sim game that was mainly lead by the staff, but had some computer coded features. I continued on with this idea, and I want to go on with it, but, before I spend time working on it, I want to know what you guys think about it. Below is a list of features/things that will be able to be done on the site. Please comment with your ideas or comments as well!

Ideas

• A Sled Dog SIM/RPG
  
• Adoptable 'sprites' for dogs.
  
• Adoptables will be breedable.
  
• Adoptables will be able to be equiped items that you've bought//found. These items will be viewable on that pet.(Images reuploaded with the equipment, which is manually added on)
  
• You will own your own kennel(board) where your dogs will be raised.
  
• You will be able to create your own racing team.
  
• There will be races which will be manually given the results of.
  
• Stats will be assigned to a dog at birth, but will increase over time through RPing, racing, and training your dog.
  
• Dogs will be bred for stats and colorations.
  
• A points system will be implimented.
  
• You will be able to 'custimize' your kennel by purchasing buildings.
  
• A news paper with play-made ads, information, ect.
  
• By roleplaying, you can find things and new animals, but you can also come across predators and misfortunes.
  
• More to come as I come up with them/they're suggested.
  

Please realize, just because I plan on making this, if the idea goes well, I will still be active her. I joined Owls to be around Owls, not to steal your ideas and leave. I will be around here and AB(Aurora Borealis) if it opens, and if not, I'll hang around Owls any way. I like the idea behind Owls, and I find it quite interesting.

...anyway. I don't get why people are so upset about not wanting to steal my idea. I've had two other people, beside you, say that same thing. Jeez, you guys need to stop being so courteous. I more or less took this "idea" from Volpes Sanctuary-- and that admin probably took it from someone else. It's not so much an idea as a concept- putting pixels on a forum and letting people take their codes and rp with them. As long as people aren't stealing the art, I could care less. In fact, I totally encourage people who have pet sim ideas because of Owls.

I like this idea 8B even though, I have to add this in though it may be a downer- there are a lot of dog sim games out there. I've never been on one, so I can't say whether AB is different or not. But I'm just saying... you might want to check those other sims out and try to make AB unique from them.

I did mean the forum SIM idea thing, I meant getting member suggestions xD But yeah, and I like being courteous, it's that or people dislike me. xD

And the main thing that will set AB apart is #1 It'll be set somewhere around the Yukon-Alaska area. #2 It'll be on a forum of course #3 Rather then being all automated, it's going to be run by staff #4 Rather then true 'traiing', this will need to be done by roleplaying, so it's going to be much more of a roleplay then a SIM, like Owls. <:

And thanks for reading and looking over this, and I really do hope to make it unique. Your input was REALLY appriecaited and it's nice that you took time to read it, even tohugh this had little to nothing to do with Owls LOL *More courteousness*

Of course I read it owo;; I love hearing people's ideas and inspirations and quotes and all that. I like encouraging people with their interests, because before I met Par, no one did that with me OTL But uh-- yeah. I used to have an intense fascination with sled dogs. I wanted to make my own sled team and go off to Alaska and everything x'D but my mother kind of crushed that dream. SO THIS COULD BE LIKE THE NEXT BEST THING .

...Okay, this is a little off-track... but I have a huskyxshepherd dog, his name is Sarge. He pretty much has a husky build, with German Shepherd coat length/pattern. And last night I had a dream that for some reason he completely turned into a husky, with the long fur, white coat, and everything, and I was really upset because he wasn't as cute LOL. ...>_> -loser-

I started on horse roleplays about six years ago... dabbled in wolf roleplays a little... then pretty much totally converted to humanoid roleplay four years ago xD. I think my first sim was some weird cat game a couple years ago that I lost interest in. Now the only sim I'm really playing is Woolly-Hooves and Howrse. But I dunno, I prefer roleplaying to sims. It has a lot more user-interaction.

THank you. <3 The final sprite is going to be a LOT bulkier, I'm going to move the head down a bit, tail fuzz is going to be editted a bit, I wanna make it fuzzier over all(Or at least have some rugged and rough looking fur), and I want to fix the back leg a bit. I want my sprites to be -somewhat- realistic, even if not in porportion(sp?).

And I've always had this same fascination with it as well LOL. I love dogs and sleds and snow, and put them together, it's like pure epicness xD THat's one of the reasons I want to do this site, to put them all together plus roleplaying.

And it's not much off track...It's kind of, I don't know, prophetic. It's like you dream up your dog being a sled dog, and i dream up a sled dog roleplay and SIM lol

And I started out at wolf RPs, then went to Warrior Cats, then Lion, then domestic dog, then random things, and then, I ended up at Furry Paws, and from there, multiple other sims. Right now, I'm here, at Alacrity, I have mine own RP on Haitus(Aspersion, you probably saw it's skin in my skin examples, as well as it's manip), and I'm at Equidaem.

And it's still really nice to read not. Not many people support my ideas or things xD I tend to just go out and try anyway, like I spent about 30 minutes doodling up the male sprite while waiting for someone. In truth, I expected to have finished the set of wolf sprites before getting a response. xD So thanks a lot. <3 It's always really nice to get comments. <:

And really? No one would support Owls? I've always loved owls in general. If I had known you ere working on this, I would have been supporting you all the way.

Pfff, I dunno, I can't draw ANY animal besides owls. Probably other birds, but I've never tried. All I draw are humans and owls x'D. I've always wanted to draw dogs and cats, but... pfff, I dunno. I just fail at it. The proportions are so completely different from humans, and I haven't drawn anything besides humans since I was like... seven. So. Yeah.

LOL. I'm prophetic . Well, I'll probably join, but between Owls, helping Ecafur with her adoptables site Lyxx, my two other roleplaying sites, Howrse (which surprisingly sucks up a lot of time), and college... dunno how much time I'll have for it o-o BUT I'LL TOTALLY SUPPORT YOU ALL THE WAY

Ahhh well, Parpar totally supported me all the way, and I completely love her for that. She's an amazing friend. But I actually MADE this forum a year ago (September 09), and my online friends at the time pretty much ignored my pleas for help and support. And my REAL LIFE friends, well... I never ever tell them the things I do online, as they'd all probably think I'm completely insane. Most of my friends look at me like I have five heads when I tell them I roleplay online. They all think of roleplaying as like... nerds acting out D&D scenes, and all of that. So yeahhh...

ANYWAY. So this forum was sitting around for months, completely neglected because I didn't think anyone cared about it. Then I was just doodling around, and I draw an owl like I usually do, and then I was thinking about how different breeds of owls look different, but I always draw them looking exactly the same, more or less. So I searched up a picture of a different breed of owl, started drawing it, and then I was thinking about this site, which was originally only going to have like one line art of owls. And... BAM. I got my inspiration back to start it up again, with different owl breeds to make it more interesting. Of course, I told my best (online) friend first, and she was sort of "eh"/ignored me, like she had done before.

SO. If I hadn't told Par about it next, I would have abandoned the idea again. But Parpar was totally for it, she got all excited and everything, so it boosted my excitement. And... viola, Ash Trees. You probably didn't have to hear that whole long rant of my hardship and strife (/sarcastic), but... just... I know what its like trying to make something you really love, and then having absolutely nobody care about your interests. So I think you should keep going with this. I am totally backing you up here- you have amazing graphics, amazing pixels, and an amazing idea. You could definitely make something fantastic.

I can't draw humans. At all. And I can't draw bids, other then owls, unless I try REALLY hard xD All I can draw are four legged critters. They're basically all I ever drew. When I was younger I was all "Pfffft why would I want to draw people? I see people and I am a person EVERRRYYY day." xD

And thank you so much, it'll be great to have you around. And don't worry, I understand. Your site needs the most attention, and then you of course have other prioreties(sp?), it's just really nice to know someone's there. (=

And LOL my friends are like that too. 'Cept for one of them. She's one of the admins on Broken (She's Embers) Me and here are like, photomanipulation buddies together xD

And wow, if I were you, I most likely would have made a completely new forum for the site...I would have forgotten about any old forums I used xD

And after I finish doing dishes and folding another load of laundry, I plan on finishing the male wolf(but that won't be uploaded her. I'm only putting up sketches), then I want to at least start the female. I want to try to get the wolf set (Male and female adults and male and female pups.), and if I have enough time, I want to start a set on a few of the actual dog breeds (Most likely I'l start mutts).

I would love to have a friend like that x'D I /kind of/ have one, my friend Kacey, who used to roleplay on horse forums with me. She doesn't any more, but she still doesn't think any different of me because I roleplay x'D. Still, she's not into the whole sims, adoptables, thing. Most of my friends don't really understand why I waste so much time on the computer, which annoys me, because everyone else in the world wastes time watching TV. When you're watching the tv, you just sit there mindlessly. At least the computer requires some semblance of /knowledge/.

Hmm... I just thought of something. It's interesting how no one ever mentions owls, but when I say something about them, everyone is ALWAYS like "omg I love owls!". Well, except for someone I know who says she's scared of them x'D. But... I dunno. I've had a passion for owls for a really long time, and I'm quite aware that I like them. But I think a lot of people subconsciously love owls, they just don't know it until someone brings them up x]

It'd be great if people from here joined. I plan on advertising it on a lot of canine and human RPs to try and spark interest. xD And I'd love to have Owls and AB affiliate! =D

And yeah, Embers is an amazing person. IRL we have this thing going on whereshe's my mom, so every day I see her, I just like, dash up to and am all "HI MOMMY!" And for some reason. And my friend, Embers, she WAY prefers RPs to adoptable sites and SIMS.

And yeah, I think that same thing about my mother, who normally sits there watching TV all day, then is all "Go outside for a wlak or something. Stop wasting your time on the computer" It's like "Well what are you doing that's so important?

And yeah, I think subconsciencly, everyone might love owls. xD

A long time ago, there was a sled dog SIM called Sledzz, but it was sold to a new owner then closed after about 2 years of being around. It somewhat of my inspiration, but a lot of it is purely my obsession with sled dogs and the Yukon region.

And I -can- draw cats, but it takes some time for me to do, and anything other then wolves, dogs, and cats? You may as well gouge your eyes out with a butter knife before the picture loads. xD I'm decent with dogs and wolves though I guess.

And yeah, it does take a lot of work. I have about two I started making and never finished this year alone, one I opened that's currently on Haitus until a later time, when I have more muse for it, and yeah.

And I really think I'll be able to at least open this one, and with support, I'll -hopefully- be able to keep this one open. Also: I'd really love for you and everyone else on Owls to join. It'll be great to have you guys around there, especially since a lot of you will have more experience with forum sims/roleplays then I will, sicne this is the first one I've been on in about 3-4 years.
